Seizures and epilepsy.

“I don’t have epilepsy, I have seizures”, the patient tells me. This is a statement I have heard many times. And really, I understand why. It is not always clear, even to us doctors, when to diagnose someone with a seizure versus epilepsy. It is an important distinction though. Why, because epilepsy is a condition that can affect all aspects of a person’s life. There are the seizures, yes. There are also effects on a person’s mood, ability to concentrate, memory and many other facets of life that are so important on our Neuro Journey.

Click on the video below. This is my Epilepsy Basics talk. I break down what an epileptic seizure is. I delve into what epilepsy is. And I discuss a few of the associated issues persons with epilepsy can have. Watch the video and tell me what else you want to learn about. My inspiration comes from you!
